Please prepare your paper in accordance to the instructions given in the template. To view and download the template prepared in MS Word format click here. The maximum length of the paper is limited to 8 pages for a regular paper, and 12 pages for a special or possible special paper. Please upload your paper electronically to the website: www.slgssr2007.org before the deadline January 22, 2007. You will need your user account login information (username and password) to upload the paper to the website. If you have forgotten your password, please send an e-mail to kulatila@u.arizona.edu to obtain that information. The PDF format is preferred in uploading the paper. If it is unavailable, use MS WORD (DOC) to upload the paper. When uploading each paper, you will be requested to name a presenter/registrant to go with the paper. For regular papers, you may indicate your preference between an oral presentation and a possible poster session (if the number of accepted papers exceeds the available number of oral presentation slots) in uploading your paper.

Each paper will be reviewed by at least two reviewers who have expertise on the topic dealt with. The papers accepted for both oral presentation and the possible poster session will be included in the proceedings. All papers accepted for the conference constitute agreement that the author(s) pay a non-refundable paper deposit of US$ 50 per each paper when the final paper is accepted on March 20, 2007, and will register for the conference at the appropriate fee(s), attend the conference, and present the paper in person. The registration fee includes the paper deposit for only one paper. At present, the number of accepted abstracts exceeds the number of slots available for oral presentations. Some authors are requested to combine similar abstracts to a single paper. In addition, procedures are implemented to limit the number of oral presentations of an author to either one or a maximum of two if both papers are of high quality. In the case of an author delivering two presentations, the author should pay the registration fee plus an extra US$ 50 as the paper deposit for the second paper. English shall be the official language throughout the conference.

Papers will be made available to conference participants on CD. It is planned to publish the top 10% of the soil mechanics/soil engineering papers as well as top 10% of the rock mechanics/rock engineering papers of the conference as a special issue in the International Journal of Geotechnical and Geological Engineering.
